Managing Associate (6+PQE) - Reputation Protection

The role

Mishcon Private is seeking a media litigator with 6+ years of PQE to join their team in London. The role is for experienced litigators with strong technical, client handling, and communication skills, who can creatively provide commercially sound advice and drive business development.

What you'll do

• Deal with a varied but exacting client base
• Win client trust and confidence
• Build meaningful client relationships
• Advise on potential claims in defamation, privacy, confidentiality, harassment and data protection
• Manage pre-action engagement
• Manage litigation
• Manage emergency injunction applications
• Manage regulatory action
• Manage media crisis
• Respond to media enquiries and threats
• Address online publications
• Identify publishers of online content
• Seek removal of objectionable content
• Prepare and submit complaints and reports to regulators
• Support clients out of hours and at weekends
• Provide urgent round-the-clock advice
• Participate in an 'on-call' rota
• Negotiate with the media or other interest groups
• Address campaigns
• Supervise other fee earners
• Supervise less experienced colleagues
• Maintain consistently high standards of financial matter planning
• Maintain consistently high standards of file management
• Secure repeat work from internal/external clients
• Contribute towards business development
• Develop own profile within the Firm
• Develop own profile externally
• Generate new business from existing clients
• Win new clients for the Firm
