Associate – Medical Negligence

The role

Fieldfisher is seeking a solicitor with 3-6 years of PQE for their Manchester Medical Negligence team. This role is for a claimant-focused lawyer who will manage their own caseload of clinical negligence matters while supporting partners and senior lawyers on complex litigation and business development.

What you'll do

• Assist in managing a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters
• Support Partners and senior lawyers on high-value and complex litigation
• Draft key legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and settlement documentation
• Instruct and liaise with counsel, medical experts and other third parties
• Maintain regular client contact
• Support the progression of claims from inception through to settlement or trial
• Assist with business development activities
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Maintain accurate file management
• Maintain time recording
• Maintain compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements
