Senior Associate – Medical Negligence

The role

This is an opportunity for a UK qualified solicitor with typically 7+ PQE to join Fieldfisher's growing Medical Negligence team in Manchester. The role involves managing a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, supporting partners on high-value litigation, and contributing to business development within a collaborative and ambitious team.

What you'll do

• Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, with appropriate supervision on more complex cases
• Support Partners on high-value and complex litigation
• Draft key legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and settlement documentation
• Instruct and liaise with counsel, medical experts and other third parties
• Maintain regular client contact, handling matters with sensitivity and professionalism
• Progress claims from inception through to settlement or trial, ensuring excellent client outcomes
• Contribute to business development, including networking, marketing initiatives and building your professional profile
• Supervise and mentor junior team members where appropriate
• Maintain accurate file management and comply with internal processes and regulatory requirements
