Employment, Safety & Education Lawyer

The role

This role is for a post-qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of experience to join the Employment, Safety & Education team at Lavan. The lawyer will focus on advising and representing employer clients across various industries in a wide range of workplace-related matters.

What you'll do

• Draft and review employment contracts, enterprise agreements, and workplace policies
• Develop employment frameworks, policies, and practice manuals that ensure compliance with legislation and best practice
• Advise on workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance, including major incident investigations and regulatory responses
• Handle work, health, and safety complaints and prosecutions
• Represent clients in industrial relations matters, including industrial action, enterprise bargaining and dispute resolution
• Manage responses to workplace and equal opportunity claims
• Assist with executive termination strategies and negotiated exits
• Resolve workplace disputes in all Federal and State jurisdictions, including unfair dismissal, unlawful termination, underpayment claims, and discrimination-based claims
• Formulate practical and business-aligned solutions and represent clients before the Fair Work Commission, tribunals, and courts as required
