The role

Mills Oakley is seeking a Senior Associate with 5+ years of PQE to join their national Charities and Purpose-Driven Institutions team in Sydney. The role involves providing expert legal advice on a range of matters within the charity and not-for-profit sector.

What you'll do

Draft complex letters of advice and submissions to the ATO and ACNC
Arrange tax endorsements/concession for charities
Provide corporate/governance advice
Advise on fundraising issues
Deal with internal disputes in NFPs
Draft constitutions
Act on mergers

What we're looking for

Minimum of 5 years' PQE in NFP, charity, corporate, commercial or tax law

Skilled at translating complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice

Passionate about the NFP and for‑purpose sector

Comfortable managing client relationships and mentoring junior lawyers

Collaborative, pragmatic, and committed to delivering high‑quality work

Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent client service

At least a credit average academic history from a well-respected university
