The role
This is an opportunity for a lawyer with 3-5 years of PAE to join the Taxation team within the Corporate & Commercial practice group in Brisbane. The role focuses on providing strategic tax advice across various tax types and drafting complex trust structures, with the opportunity to work with partners Lindsay Reed and John Caravousanos.
What you'll do
- Provide strategic tax advice to clients across a range of matters (income tax, GST, land tax, payroll tax, stamp duty)
- Draft and advise on complex trust structures, trust deeds, and wills & estates matters
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and contributing to team capability and growth
What we're looking for
3-5 years PAE
Income tax and/or state tax experience
Strategic and critical thinking capability
A vested interest in tax and structuring, underpinned by a strong commercial mindset
Broader legal experience beyond tax, such as M&A, property, commercial transactions, or tax litigation
Full working rights in Australia
A valid practising certificate
Desire to grow in income tax and/or state tax areas· nice to have
Desire to apply broader legal knowledge in a specialised tax context· nice to have
