The role

This role is for an experienced Corporate & Commercial lawyer in Sydney, supporting Partners Robert Gibson and Rowan McDonald. The position involves assisting with complex corporate and commercial transactions for a diverse range of Australian and international clients.

What you'll do

Assist with private M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents
Support matters involving government procurement, public sector transactions and regulatory compliance
Prepare FIRB applications and advise on foreign investment / critical infrastructure requirements
Draft commercial contracts, privacy notices and assist with privacy and data compliance projects
Conduct legal research, prepare advice and assist with client management
Support legislative compliance reviews, policy development and corporate governance projects

What we're looking for

Full working rights in Australia

A valid practising certificate

Experience or strong interest in corporate/commercial law, including M&A, privacy, regulatory or government work

Strong drafting and analytical skills with high attention to detail

Ability to manage competing deadlines within a fast-paced transactional environment

Excellent communication skills and a proactive, commercially-minded approach

A willingness to learn and work with evolving technologies and regulatory frameworks
