Senior Associate | Special Counsel - Property Insurance (Indemnity, Defence and Recoveries)

The role

This role is for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel in the General Insurance practice based in Brisbane. It primarily focuses on property/construction insurance matters, including high-quantum property recoveries and first-party insurance disputes. The position is ideal for an experienced insurance lawyer looking to manage their own files with partner support.

What you'll do

• Manage own files with appropriate supervision
• Client interaction and strategy
• Working with a team of lawyers
• Reviewing documents and preparing evidence
• Drafting correspondence to the Court and third parties
• Conferencing with witnesses and preparing witness statements
• Preparing briefs for counsel
• Drafting Court documents and attendance at Court
• Drafting client advices
• Drafting letters of instruction to experts
