Senior Associate, Administrative Law at Maddocks

The role

We are seeking a Senior Associate with expertise in Administrative Law to join our Public Law team in Sydney. This role is for experienced legal professionals, ideally with 5+ PQE, and will work alongside Partner Michael Winram. The position offers advancement and growth opportunities within a collaborative team environment.

What you'll do

Draft summaries of evidence and statements of issues
Assist and attend case conferences and hearings
Conduct directions hearings
Draft litigation strategies
Conduct complex statutory interpretation

What we're looking for

Approximately 5+ years post qualification experience

Experience in government advisory work

Strong interest in administrative law and statutory interpretation

Excellent technical and drafting skills

An enquiring mind, sound judgement and a can-do attitude

Commitment to team work and achieving challenging objectives

Experience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution including appearances at tribunals and/or court

Strong academic qualifications

Legally permitted to work in Australia

Background of working in government and keen to make your move into a law firm· nice to have
