Energy and Resources Associate at Jones Day

The role

Jones Day is seeking an experienced Energy and Resources Associate for its Brisbane office. This role is for a lawyer with 5+ years of PQE in energy law, focusing on a broad range of energy and resources matters within a global practice.

What you'll do

Advise across the full spectrum of energy and resources matters
Advise on major energy and infrastructure projects
Advise on regulatory, legislative and policy issues
Advise on commercial agreements, joint ventures and commodity transactions
Advise on project development
Advise on cross-border matters with global Jones Day teams
Advise on M&A transactions including energy asset sales and purchases

What we're looking for

A minimum of 5+ years’ post-qualification experience

Experience in energy law

Experience in energy projects

Experience in renewables and energy transition projects

Experience in energy sale and purchase transactions gained at a well-regarded firm

Strong academics and technical drafting skills

Sound commercial judgement

A collaborative approach

Ability to build strong client relationships

Ability to contribute positively to team culture

A willingness to mentor and support junior lawyers

Contributing to the development of junior lawyers
