The role
Jones Day is seeking an Associate with 5+ PQE to join their Energy Practice in Brisbane. This role is for lawyers with experience in energy law, projects, renewables, and energy transition, who are looking to work on significant global transactions within a highly integrated global firm.
What you'll do
- Advise on major energy and infrastructure projects
- Advise on regulatory, legislative and policy issues
- Advise on commercial agreements, joint ventures and commodity transactions
- Advise on project development
- Advise on cross-border matters with global Jones Day teams
- Advise on M&A transactions including energy asset sales and purchases
What we're looking for
A minimum of 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
Experience in energy law, energy projects, renewables and energy transition projects, energy sale and purchase transactions gained at a well-regarded firm
Strong academics and technical drafting skills
Sound commercial judgement
A collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong client relationships and contribute positively to team culture
A willingness to mentor and support junior lawyers, contributing to their development
