The role

We are seeking a Senior Associate lawyer for our Professional & Financial Disputes practice in Sydney. This role is for an ambitious lawyer with a strong general insurance litigation background, ideally with professional indemnity or construction experience, to work on complex disputes and build client relationships under the guidance of Partner James Rigney.

What you'll do

Work with Partner James Rigney
Be heavily involved in all aspects of matters
Drive and make a significant contribution to the matter outcome
Foster and generate client relationships
Engage in business development frequently

What we're looking for

Established lawyer in Australia, New Zealand or overseas, particularly the UK

Strong general insurance litigation background

Strong private practice background

Strong academic credentials

Self-driven with excellent verbal and written communications skills

Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently

Commercial awareness

Confidence in building a rapport with clients

An ability to lead, delegate and foster a positive team atmosphere

Some solid professional indemnity or construction experience· nice to have

Exposure to complex professional indemnity, construction and insurance, and commercial disputes matters· nice to have
