Lateral Associate - Litigation: Intellectual Property

The role

Sullivan & Cromwell seeks a Lateral Associate for its Litigation Group, focusing on Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation. This role is for experienced lawyers with 2+ years of IP litigation experience at a comparable firm, based in New York or Los Angeles.

What you'll do

• Advise clients on a broad range of IP and technology issues
• Handle complex intellectual property disputes, including those that raise antitrust and competition law issues
• Enforce patents, trade secrets, trademarks and other IP rights
• Defend against claims of infringement
• Handle litigation concerning patent license agreements and other contracts that involve technology or IP rights
• Represent clients in bench and jury trials and arbitrations
• Appear in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and other trial, appellate, and administrative law venues
• Counsel clients on strategic and day-to-day issues associated with the development, acquisition and maintenance of intellectual property portfolios
• Consult on trade secret protection, patent pools and joint licensing programs, brand strategy, trademark clearance, and monetization strategies
• Assist companies in the interpretation and application of various licensing arrangements
• Advise on litigation-related matters that arise in the context of IP transactions
