The role

MinterEllison is seeking a Senior Associate to join their M&A team in Sydney, Australia, focusing on Private Capital transactions. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 5+ PQE who will work on complex domestic and cross-border deals for sponsor clients and corporates, collaborating with partners Lee Horan, Kimberly Low, and Nick Kipriotis.

What you'll do

Lead deal workstreams on private capital acquisitions, disposals and investments, including drafting and negotiating key transaction documents
Coordinate due diligence processes and provide commercially focused risk advice
Advise on deal structuring, regulatory matters and completion mechanics
Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to their development
Build client relationships and support business development

What we're looking for

Approximately 5+ PQE in M&A and/or private capital at a leading law firm

Current Australian practising certificate

Experience advising on Private Capital transactions, including investments, buyouts, exits, and restructurings

Strong drafting and negotiation skills across complex transaction documentation

Excellent commercial judgment with the ability to provide clear, practical advice

Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
