Key requirements
7+ years of experience with investment adviser regulatory matters Comparable law firm experience and/or experience working at the Securities and Exchange Commission and/or at an industry participant Demonstrated experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and other federal securities law Experience in counseling top-tier investment management firms on investment adviser regulatory matters, including registration, conflicts of interest and disclosure, compliance policies and procedures, advertising and marketing, SEC regulatory examinations, and the development and distribution of products and services
The role
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius seeks a highly qualified Of Counsel with 7+ years of experience to join its Investment Management – Financial Institutions practice group. This role focuses on investment adviser regulatory matters and requires experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and federal securities law, serving clients in the investment management industry. The position is available in New York, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C.
What you'll do
- Counsel top-tier investment management firms on investment adviser regulatory matters
- Analyze complex regulatory matters
- Produce clear and comprehensive written materials memorializing legal advice
- Manage projects of varying sizes to completion
- Engage effectively with partners across the firm and practice
- Manage and train more junior attorneys
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience with investment adviser regulatory matters
Comparable law firm experience and/or experience working at the Securities and Exchange Commission and/or at an industry participant
Demonstrated experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and other federal securities law
Experience in counseling top-tier investment management firms on investment adviser regulatory matters, including registration, conflicts of interest and disclosure, compliance policies and procedures, advertising and marketing, SEC regulatory examinations, and the development and distribution of products and services
Proficiency in analyzing complex regulatory matters and producing clear and comprehensive written materials memorializing legal advice
Ability to manage projects of varying sizes to completion
Ability to engage effectively with partners across the firm and practice
Ability to manage and train more junior attorneys
Excellent academic credentials
Strong organization, drafting, communication, and analytical skills
Active member of the bar in the state of the Morgan Lewis office for which you are applying
