The role
O'Melveny & Myers is seeking a Corporate Associate with 2-3 years of experience to join its M&A Practice Group in Silicon Valley. This role focuses on representing a range of clients, including startups and investors, in M&A and venture capital transactions within the technology and life sciences sectors.
What you'll do
- Draft and negotiate venture financing documents
- Support M&A and capital markets transactions
- Handle routine corporate requests
- Establish working relationships with ongoing clients
- Interface directly and frequently with clients and opposing counsel
What we're looking for
2-3 years of experience
Corporate transactional background
Experience in venture capital and M&A
Familiarity with formation and continuing representation of technology companies
Experience with venture financing documents
Experience on M&A transactions
Ability to draft and negotiate venture financing documents
Ability to support M&A and capital markets transactions
Ability to handle routine corporate requests
Ability to establish working relationships with ongoing clients
Ability to interface directly and frequently with clients and opposing counsel
Strong academic credentials
Exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable with deal teams
Value teamwork and collaboration
Ability to handle individual responsibilities
Background in securities transactions
Background in venture capital transactions
