The role

Jones Day is looking for a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Technology practice group, focusing on Cybersecurity, Privacy, & Data Protection matters. The role is based in Silicon Valley and requires strong analytical and communication skills to advise clients on a range of data protection and cybersecurity issues.

What you'll do

Advise clients about cybersecurity and privacy matters
Develop and implement privacy policies
Respond to cyber incidents
Handle data breach notifications
Manage regulatory investigations
Engage in litigation related to cybersecurity and privacy

What we're looking for

3-5 years of large law firm experience

Experience advising clients about cybersecurity and privacy matters

Experience with compliance counseling

Experience with privacy policy development and implementation

Experience with cyber-incident response

Experience with data breach notification

Experience with regulatory investigations

Litigation experience

Ability to assume appropriate level of responsibility

Strong research skills

Strong analytical skills

Strong presentation skills

Ability to work in a team

Ability to work on fast-paced matters

Superior academic credentials

Admission to practice law in California (for Silicon Valley)

Benefits

Expected Salary Range (CA and NYC): $260,000 - $455,000, depending on qualifications and experience
