The role
WilmerHale's Corporate practice is seeking associates with 4-5 years of post-JD experience for their Palo Alto office. This role focuses on advising emerging companies and venture capital firms on a range of transactional matters, including formation, financings, and M&A.
What you'll do
- Advise clients on business formation, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions
- Advise emerging companies and startups through all stages of growth and financing
- Work closely with venture capital firms on investments and portfolio company matters
- Train and mentor junior associates
What we're looking for
Four to five years of post-JD experience in emerging companies and venture financing
Juris Doctor
Attorney licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based
Strong analytical skills
Experience advising clients on business formation, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions
Experience advising emerging companies and startups through all stages of growth and financing
Experience working closely with venture capital firms on investments and portfolio company matters
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Demonstrated experience training and mentoring junior associates
Experience managing teams on transactions· nice to have
