Intellectual Property Associate - Technology at WilmerHale

The role

WilmerHale is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of post-JD experience to join their IP practice. The role focuses on patent prosecution and IP litigation matters, working with experienced attorneys and partners on a wide range of cases.

What you'll do

Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO
Develop and manage strategic IP portfolios for clients
Provide mentorship and training to junior associates
Conduct pre-litigation diligence
Draft pleadings
Conduct legal research
Prepare expert witnesses

What we're looking for

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering

2-4 years of post-JD experience in both patent prosecution and IP litigation

Admission to practice before the USPTO

Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based (MA, NY, CA or DC)

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Graduate Degree or industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred

Experience in taking and defending depositions· nice to have

Experience with post-grant proceedings, such as inter partes reviews and post-grant reviews· nice to have
