The role
WilmerHale is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of post-JD experience to join their IP practice. This role focuses on cutting-edge patent prosecution and litigation matters, working with partners and other associates in various office locations.
What you'll do
- Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO
- Develop and manage strategic IP portfolios for clients
- Provide mentorship and training to junior associates
- Conduct pre-litigation diligence
- Draft pleadings
- Conduct legal research
- Prepare expert witnesses
What we're looking for
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
2-4 years of post-JD experience in both patent prosecution and IP litigation
Admission to practice before the USPTO
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based (MA, NY, CA or DC)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Graduate Degree or industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering· nice to have
Experience with post-grant proceedings, such as inter partes reviews and post-grant reviews· nice to have
Experience in taking and defending depositions· nice to have
