IP Senior Associate - Chemistry at WilmerHale

The role

WilmerHale is seeking a highly motivated Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of post-JD experience to join their IP practice. This role will focus on patent prosecution and litigation matters within the chemistry, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology fields.

What you'll do

Conduct patent prosecution
Engage in patent litigation
Manage and develop patent portfolios
Perform competitive landscape analyses
Assess patentability

What we're looking for

JD from an accredited law school

3-5 years of post-JD experience in both patent prosecution and litigation

Experience with chemistry, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology

Knowledge of patent portfolio management and development, competitive landscape analyses, and patentability

Admission to practice before the USPTO

Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based (MA, NY, CA, CO or DC)

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

PhD degree in chemistry· nice to have
