The role
WilmerHale seeks a motivated Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of post-JD experience to join its IP practice. This role will focus on patent prosecution and litigation matters within the biotechnology and related industries, and can be based in Boston, Denver, New York, Palo Alto, or Washington, DC.
What we're looking for
JD from an accredited law school
Undergraduate degree in Biology
3-5 years of post-JD experience in both patent prosecution and litigation
Experience with patents in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, gene therapy, medical device and digital health industries
Knowledge of patent portfolio management and development, competitive landscape analyses, and patentability
Admission to practice before the USPTO
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based (MA, NY, CA, CO or DC)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Life sciences PhD· nice to have
