The role
Cooley LLP seeks attorneys with 4-7 years of experience in M&A and corporate governance to join their M&A team, focusing on Shareholder Activism Defense. The role is for candidates with a strong background in public company M&A, securities law, Delaware law, and corporate governance, who have advised public companies on shareholder activism and takeover defense. This position offers the chance to work with senior partners on significant matters and contribute to the growth of the shareholder activism defense team.
What you'll do
- Advise public companies in shareholder activism and takeover defense
- Work closely with senior partners on high-stakes matters
- Develop client relationships
- Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the shareholder activism defense team
What we're looking for
4-7 years of experience with M&A and corporate governance work
Strong background in public company M&A
Expertise in securities law
Expertise in Delaware law
Expertise in corporate governance
Hands-on experience advising public companies in shareholder activism and takeover defense
High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school required
