The role
Cooley is seeking 3rd-6th year associates to join its private companies team. This role is for experienced associates with at least three years of experience advising early-stage and growth-stage companies on general corporate matters, including venture capital financings and liquidity events.
What you'll do
- Advise disruptive companies and the investors who fund them
- Counsel venture-backed companies on general corporate matters throughout their growth cycle
- Work on venture capital financings
- Work on liquidity events
- Build and run a practice
- Participate in speaking engagements
- Contribute to the development of Cooley’s private companies platform
What we're looking for
3-6 years of associate experience
At least three years of substantial experience working with early-stage and growth-stage companies
Experience in the corporate department of a national or international law firm
Strong academic record from a nationally recognized law school
Deep experience counseling venture-backed companies on general corporate matters throughout their growth cycle, including venture capital financings and liquidity events
