The role
This role is for an experienced Patent Litigation Associate with 2-6 years of PQE, specifically for US District Court and PTAB proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in patent law, be comfortable with courtroom activities like depositions and trials, enjoy client interaction and teamwork, and contribute to case strategy.
What you'll do
- Participate in underlying case analyses
- Conduct factual and legal research
- Draft pleadings
- Participate in discovery on infringement, validity, and damages issues
- Conduct depositions
- Participate in expert discovery
- Research and draft dispositive and discovery motions
- Draft claim construction briefing
- Participate in pre-trial activities
- Participate in trial activities
What we're looking for
2-6 years of patent litigation experience
Experience in U.S. District Court proceedings
Experience in Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings
Experience with case analyses
Experience conducting factual and legal research
Experience drafting pleadings
Experience with discovery on infringement, validity, and damages issues
Experience with depositions
Experience with expert discovery
Experience researching and drafting dispositive and discovery motions
Experience with claim construction briefing
Experience with pre-trial activities
Experience with trial activities
Undergraduate or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and/or physics
High level of academic achievement from a law school institution
Excellent writing skills
Experience taking depositions· nice to have
Experience speaking directly with clients· nice to have
Experience speaking directly with opposing counsel· nice to have
Experience working within the Intellectual Property department of a comparable law firm· nice to have
