The role
This role is for an experienced Patent Litigation Associate with 2-6 PQE, focusing on life sciences and ANDA litigation in U.S. District Courts and PTAB proceedings. The ideal candidate is comfortable with court appearances, client interaction, and strategic case development.
What you'll do
- Participate in underlying case analyses
- Conduct factual and legal research
- Draft pleadings
- Participate in discovery on infringement, validity, and damages issues
- Conduct depositions
- Conduct expert discovery
- Research and draft dispositive and discovery motions
- Research and draft claim construction briefing
- Participate in pre-trial activities
- Participate in trial activities
What we're looking for
2-6 years of significant patent litigation experience in U.S. District Courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board
Experience in post-grant proceedings
Experience participating in underlying case analyses
Experience conducting factual and legal research
Experience drafting pleadings
Experience participating in discovery on infringement, validity, and damages issues
Experience with depositions and expert discovery
Experience researching and drafting dispositive and discovery motions
Experience with claim construction briefing
Experience participating in pre-trial and trial activities
Excellent writing skills
Undergraduate or master’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or other life sciences discipline· nice to have
Experience working within the Intellectual Property department of a comparable law firm· nice to have
High level of academic achievement from a law school institution· nice to have
Experience standing up in court or taking a deposition· nice to have
Experience speaking directly with clients and opposing counsel· nice to have
Willingness to actively participate in the strategic development of the case· nice to have
