The role
Cooley is looking for 3rd to 6th year associates to join its elite private companies team. This role is for experienced associates with at least three years of substantial experience advising early-stage and growth-stage companies on general corporate matters, including venture capital financings and liquidity events.
What you'll do
- Advise disruptive companies and the investors who fund them
- Counsel venture-backed companies on general corporate matters
- Build and run a practice
- Participate in speaking engagements
- Contribute to the development of Cooley’s national private companies platform
What we're looking for
3rd-6th year associate
At least three years of substantial experience working with early-stage and growth-stage companies
Deep experience counseling venture-backed companies on general corporate matters throughout their growth cycle
Experience in the corporate department of a national or international law firm
Strong academic record from a nationally recognized law school
Experience with venture capital financings· nice to have
