The role
Cooley LLP seeks a lawyer with two to five years of broad experience in employment law for their Employment and Labor practice group in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Santa Monica. The role requires a strong background in case development, discovery, investigations, and employment counseling, and is ideal for motivated individuals with exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
What you'll do
- Advise clients on employment policies and practices
- Advise clients on statutory and regulatory compliance
- Advise clients on employment and separation agreements
- Help train and mentor junior associates
What we're looking for
Two to five years of broad experience and sophistication in employment law
Experience in case development
Experience in legal research and writing
Experience in all aspects of discovery
Experience in witness interviews or investigations
Experience in brief writing
Strong set of employment counseling skills
Experience and developing expertise in advising clients on employment policies and practices
Experience and developing expertise in advising clients on statutory and regulatory compliance
Experience and developing expertise in advising clients on employment and separation agreements
Strong academic credentials
Exceptional communication skills
Exceptional legal writing skills
High level of motivation and initiative
Willingness to help train and mentor junior associates
Strong work ethic
Current admittance to the California bar
