2027 Summer Associate – Corporate

The role

Cooley LLP is seeking JD 2028 students for Summer Associate roles in its General Corporate group across multiple office locations for the 2027 Summer Program. This role offers emerging company, private equity, capital markets, M&A, and corporate governance transactional experience.

What you'll do

• Work within a preeminent, internationally recognized corporate practice
• Advise clients ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 public companies
• Receive a wide range of experience before having the opportunity to identify a specific area of focus
• Receive realistic and meaningful view of practicing law at the firm
• Work on assignments related to active client matters
• Gain practical exposure to the firm’s clients and practice areas
• Participate in pro bono matters throughout the program
• Participate in extensive training and professional development
• Participate in four days of training and orientation during the annual kickoff weekend
• Attend condensed version of Cooley College curriculum
• Learn fundamentals of mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, and venture capital financings
• Attend classes covering discovery, brief writing, witness interviewing, and additional core skills
