Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources - Associate Attorney – Midlevel

The role

Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a mid-level associate for their Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources practice group. This role will focus on digital infrastructure and energy transition, working on power transactions, market design, FERC regulatory matters, and federal energy policy for developers, utilities, and corporate buyers.

What you'll do

• Negotiate sophisticated power purchase agreements and custom energy service agreements on behalf of developers, utilities and corporate buyers
• Advise on complex electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs
• Represent clients in high-stakes proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
• Advise on compliance with respect to market-based rate programs, qualifying facilities and exempt wholesale generators, interlocks, etc
• Counsel clients on emerging energy policy, renewable energy integration, and carbon-free energy procurement strategies
