The role
Cooley LLP seeks a lawyer with five or more years of experience in government contracts and national security law to join their Washington, DC office. The role focuses on transactional support, regulatory counseling, and advising on matters like facility security clearances, small business programs, cybersecurity compliance, and contract negotiation.
What you'll do
- Provide government contracts transactional support including M&A and structured investments
- Advise on DCSA facility security clearances and FOCI analyses
- Counsel on government contracts and regulatory matters
- Negotiate prime contracts, subcontracts, and teaming agreements
What we're looking for
Five or more years of government contracts practice experience
Meaningful transactional and counseling experience
Ability to multi-task on a variety of short-deadline assignments
Ability to continuously produce thoughtful, intelligent work product of superior quality
Excellent writing skills
High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school
Significant experience in government contracts transactional support
Significant experience in DCSA facility security clearances and FOCI analyses
Significant experience in government contracts and regulatory counseling
Experience with small business set-aside programs
Experience with SBIR and STTR awards
Experience with rights in technical data, software, and subject inventions
Experience with cybersecurity/CMMC compliance
Experience with negotiation of prime contracts, subcontracts, and teaming agreements
