The role
An experienced, mid-level antitrust associate is sought for the Washington, D.C. office to advise clients on antitrust laws, government regulatory procedures, and merger reviews. The role involves representing clients in investigations by the FTC, DOJ, and state authorities, conducting due diligence, and assessing risk.
What you'll do
- Conduct antitrust due diligence for mergers and acquisitions transactions
- Assess and analyze deal- and conduct-related antitrust risks and lead the antitrust review process including client interviews and opposing counsel discussions
- Prepare and review legal documents related to antitrust aspects of corporate transactions
- Handle Second Requests and responses to compulsory process in government antitrust investigations by the FTC, DOJ, and state authorities, and agency advocacy, including drafting white papers and presentations and preparing clients for investigational hearings and depositions
- Provide thorough legal guidance to clients and internal teams on antitrust law compliance and the government investigation process and stay current on changes to antitrust laws and regulations
- Represent clients in consent or other negotiations, hearings, and litigation
- Train and mentor junior associates
What we're looking for

Strong analytical and negotiation skills
Admission to practice in the District of Columbia
Combination of work experience at a law firm and at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or the Department of Justice-Antitrust Division (DOJ)· nice to have
