The role
We are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate with at least 3 years of PQE to join the Leeds Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team. This role is ideal for lawyers with experience in Infrastructure, Projects & Energy, Corporate/M&A, or Commercial Contracts, who are looking to advise on a diverse range of major projects in the transport and energy sectors.
What you'll do
- Advise on the procurement of new rolling stock
- Advise on rolling stock modification projects
- Advise on light and heavy rail franchising issues
- Advise on in life management, transfer schemes and franchise mobilisation
- Advise on a variety of general commercial and operational contracts in the wider transport sector
- Advise energy/renewables clients on project development
- Advise energy/renewables clients on M&A
- Advise energy/renewables clients on regulated energy and public procurement
- Advise on a range of projects and matters related to public assets and services that support communities, such as schools, hospitals, and roads and strategic government projects
What we're looking for
At least 3 years PQE+ experience
Experience within Infrastructure, Projects & Energy, Corporate/M&A or Commercial Contracts background
Strong technical legal skills including drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of complex contracts
Inquisitive and able to understand client drivers and what matters to them
Familiarity with project development, M&A, and public procurement in the energy and infrastructure sectors· nice to have
Awareness of PFI/PPP models, and relevant legal and commercial structures for social infrastructure and transport projects· nice to have
