Corporate Restructuring Associate - NQ

The role

This role is for a newly qualified Associate to join Skadden's Corporate Restructuring group in London. The position focuses on advising clients in complex, cross-border restructuring transactions and insolvency-related disputes, requiring strong academic achievement and initiative.

What you'll do

• Advise companies, boards of directors, sponsors, creditors and creditor groups, acquirers and other stakeholders in the full spectrum of in- and out-of-court restructuring transactions
• Advise on special situations and structured private capital transactions
• Develop sophisticated strategies to offer innovative solutions and enhanced value to clients involved in distressed situations
• Team up with U.S. Corporate Restructuring colleagues
• Work closely with M&A, Private Equity, Dispute Resolution, Debt Finance and Capital Markets groups
• Broker compromise, rather than seeking confrontation, with the overarching objective of preserving value
• Participate in regular team meetings
• Participate in regular know-how meetings and specific high yield know-how and training program
• Participate in weekly and monthly training seminars and workshops for all levels covering legal topics relevant to the firm’s practice areas and skills
• Get involved in a range of pro bono matters under the supervision of charities, on topics including family, welfare benefits, housing, and immigration, as well as corporate pro bono opportunities
