The role
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld is seeking a Midlevel Tax Associate for its New York office with 2+ years of transactional tax experience. This role will focus on tax aspects of corporate and partnership transactions, including M&A, private equity, and debt finance.
What you'll do
- Negotiate and draft tax-related provisions for a variety of transaction documents including purchase agreements, merger agreements, partnership agreements, and credit agreements
- Research complex tax issues
- Structure the tax aspect of corporate and partnership transactions
What we're looking for
2+ years of transactional tax experience at a large law firm or equivalent experience at a big four accounting firm
Experience with negotiating and drafting tax-related provisions for a variety of transaction documents including purchase agreements, merger agreements, partnership agreements, and credit agreements
Experience researching complex tax issues
Experience structuring the tax aspect of corporate and partnership transactions
Transactional tax practice with experience in tax planning related to transactions in one or more of the following areas: mergers and acquisitions, private equity, debt finance, bankruptcy/financial restructuring, special situations, and/or private credit
Stellar academic credentials
Comparable law firm experience
Available to work in person
Benefits
Base salary range for this position in New York City is $225,000 to $415,000
