Legal Director - National PI

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking an experienced Legal Director for its National Professional Indemnity team. This senior role is for a technically excellent lawyer with strong client-facing skills, focusing on managing complex, high-value claims and contributing to the strategic development of the practice.

What you'll do

• Advise insurers and insureds on complex professional indemnity claims, including coverage, defence strategy, policy interpretation and reserving issues
• Handle high-value and sensitive matters across a broad range of professions
• Manage claims from inception through to resolution, including litigation, mediation and settlement
• Act as a trusted adviser to key insurer and broker clients, developing strong, long-term relationships
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers within the team, ensuring consistent quality and technical excellence
• Support partners with business development, including client pitches, panel tenders, thought leadership and client training
• Contribute to the strategic growth and profile of the National PI practice, including innovation, process improvement and knowledge-sharing initiatives
