The role
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our dynamic Sydney future energy team. This role is for experienced lawyers with previous experience in a similar role in a law firm, or a desire to retrain in energy law. You will work closely with Partners Shirley Cheng, Roderick Smythe, Josh Thorneycroft, and Vishal Ahuja on a range of matters across the energy transition.
What you'll do
- Work on energy markets, energy reform, project and infrastructure development, energy M&A and project financing transactions for energy assets
- Be involved in regulatory advice and market design across the energy sector
- Advise investors, corporates, governments and regulators on transactions across the energy transition, sustainability and infrastructure sectors
What we're looking for
Previous experience in a similar role in a law firm
Legal experience is essential
A passion for future energy and the energy transition
A willingness to be challenged, and think creatively and laterally
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Team focus
Hold all visas and other approvals necessary for you to work for the firm in Australia
A desire to retrain in energy· nice to have
