The role
Kirkland & Ellis seeks an Investment Funds, Registered Funds/BDC Associate with 3-5 years of experience in its Registered Funds practice. This role focuses on advising on various retail fund products and related regulatory matters, based in their New York, Boston, or Washington D.C. offices.
What we're looking for
3-5 years of experience
Significant experience with forming, structuring and advising on a variety of retail fund products including mutual funds, ETFs, listed closed-end funds, interval/tender offer funds, business development companies (BDCs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), ‘holding company’ and similar structures
Juris Doctor degree
Relevant state/District of Columbia bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
Outstanding analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong academic credentials
Worked in a recognized investment funds practice· nice to have
Experience with regulatory, compliance and distribution – both U.S. and global – matters· nice to have
Public company reporting experience· nice to have
Capital markets experience· nice to have
