The role
Kirkland & Ellis seeks an Investment Funds, Registered Funds/BDC Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its M&A practice in Washington D.C., New York, or Boston. The role will focus on advising on a variety of retail fund products.
What you'll do
- Advise on a variety of retail fund products, including a mix of traditional funds, such as mutual funds, ETFs and listed closed-end funds, as well as “alternative” funds, including interval/tender offer funds, business development companies (BDCs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), “holding company” and similar structures
What we're looking for
Three to five years of experience
Experience in a recognized investment funds practice
Significant experience with forming, structuring and advising on a variety of retail fund products
Juris Doctor degree
Relevant state/District of Columbia bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
Outstanding analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong academic credentials
Experience with regulatory, compliance and distribution – both U.S. and global – matters· nice to have
Public company reporting experience· nice to have
Capital markets experience· nice to have
