The role

Shoosmiths seeks an Employment Paralegal for a 3-month fixed-term contract supporting a large-scale equal pay project. This role is based in Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds and offers hands-on experience in complex litigation within the firm's respected national Employment team.

What you'll do

Immerse yourself in the detail of claimants' employment histories
Attend witness meetings
Assist with the preparation of defence documentation
Analyse the wider litigation landscape
Observe strategic discussions shaping the defence of large-scale equal pay claims

What we're looking for

Prior experience working as a paralegal in an employment environment

Commercially minded and confident

Experience liaising with and communicating with external clients on a regular basis

Excellent attention to detail taken with all correspondence and documentation

Flexible according to client needs

Ability to adapt to change, new practices and remain calm under pressure

Able to integrate within a team as well as working on your own initiative

Good organisational skills
