Mills Oakley is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate lawyer with 3-8 years of PQE in Intellectual Property to join their Melbourne team. This role involves providing strategic legal counsel on a diverse range of IP matters, including brand strategy, trade mark portfolio management, and IP dispute resolution, for local and international businesses.
What you'll do
- Provide strategic legal counsel to clients
- Help clients safeguard and enforce their IP assets
- Navigate the complex landscape of IP law
- Provide brand strategy advice
- Manage trade mark portfolios
- Draft agreements
- Advise on copyright, design and confidential information protection and enforcement
- Provide general IP advice and handle dispute matters
What we're looking for
Between 3-8 years’ PQE in IP law
Relevant in-house experience may also be considered
Strong expertise and experience in trade mark law and practice, including advising on registrability and availability of trade marks, prosecution and managing large portfolios
Experience in advising on copyright, confidential information and misleading and deceptive contact claims
Experience in IP disputes (including oppositions and removal actions), enforcement and litigation matters
Excellent written communication and drafting skills with strong attention to detail
Strong client and matter management skills
A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem solving
The ability to take ownership of matters while working collaboratively within a team
