The role

A&O Shearman is seeking a Consulting Lawyer with 3+ years of PQE in Banking and Finance for their Singapore office. This role focuses on high-level legal work within the finance practice group, catering to experienced lawyers interested in diverse client assignments and potential internal firm projects.

What you'll do

Support a project by stepping into a team
Take on a senior manager role working on major transactions or regulatory change projects or implementation
Work within A&O Shearman on an ad-hoc basis
Support teams when needed
Join teams for fixed periods to work on a deal

What we're looking for

A right to work and reside in Singapore

Qualification to practice in at least one of England & Wales, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore or Australia

A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience at a top tier law firm in this field

Strong technical knowledge and experience in Asian markets

Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant

Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Client service-focused

Strong commercial/business acumen

Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible

Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy

In-house legal experience at leading financial services institutions/corporates preferred (directly or as a secondee)· nice to have
