The role
DAC Beachcroft is seeking a Paralegal to join their Health Law team in Leeds, United Kingdom. This role focuses on Clinical Risk, assisting with a challenging caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims.
What you'll do
- Assist the team on pre-lit and litigated defendant clinical negligence claims
- Instruct experts and counsel
- Liaise with witnesses
- Arrange conferences
- Draft documents
- Undertake research
- Deal with disclosure issues
- Attend conferences and hearings with counsel
- Adhere closely to client protocol and process
- Use bespoke case management system
- Make an appropriate contribution to non-fee-earning activity including knowledge sharing, training, client seminars and business development
What we're looking for
Previous clinical negligence experience highly desirable but not essential
Strong academic qualifications
Practical and enthusiastic approach
Strong sense of team
Desire to learn
Ability to understand and work through complex issues
Demonstrable ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues
Highly client-focused
Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues building up strong relationships
