Paralegal - Medical Negligence

The role

Irwin Mitchell is seeking a Paralegal specializing in Medical Negligence to join their Health Law practice in London. This role will support complex, high-value claims and provide an excellent client experience.

What you'll do

• Act as a first point of contact for new and existing clients, taking initial instructions, and gathering key information with empathy and professionalism
• Support fee earners in the day-to-day management of cases, ensuring files progress efficiently and in line with procedural and regulatory requirements
• Assist with the investigation of claims, including obtaining, reviewing, and organising medical records and other key evidence
• Liaise both verbally and in writing with medical experts, Counsel and other third parties, and support the organisation of conferences and meetings
• Prepare documentation to support litigation processes, including court bundles and instructions to Counsel
• Assist with hearing preparation and, where appropriate, attend court hearings and conferences
• Maintain accurate case management records, time recording and support the achievement of team financial and performance targets
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to team objectives, sharing knowledge, and supporting a positive team culture
• Keep up to date with developments in medical negligence law and practice, undertaking relevant training as required
• Support wider business development and client engagement activities, where appropriate
