The role
Clayton Utz is seeking a Lawyer with 2-4 years of experience to join their commercial and projects practice in Sydney. This role will focus on advising owners and operators of significant transport, logistics, and strategic assets, working on a diverse range of commercial transactions, procurement, and regulatory matters.
What you'll do
- Work on a diverse range of commercial transactions, procurement, project delivery and regulatory matters
- Advise on matters that shape Australia's transport and digital economy
- Engage in sophisticated transactions and strategic advisory work
- Work across the full lifecycle of major assets—from acquisitions and commercial structuring through to procurement, contract negotiation, project delivery, operational issues and long-term asset management
- Work closely with colleagues across the Firm to deliver an integrated, full-service offering to clients
- Undertake client secondments to gain valuable in-house commercial experience with major organisations
What we're looking for
2-4 years' post-admission experience in a leading commercial law firm
Excellent academic credentials
Experience in commercial transactions, procurement, front-end projects, corporate, property or another transactional practice
Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
Strong commercial judgement and an ability to identify practical solutions for clients
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional client service
A genuine interest in developing a long-term practice advising owners and operators of major transport, logistics and strategic assets
