The role

Clifford Chance is seeking a Disputes Associate with 4+ years of PQE to join their Sydney office. This role will focus on complex commercial litigation, including class actions and investigations.

What you'll do

Advise on complex commercial litigation
Work on class actions
Handle administrative proceedings
Engage in commercial and investment arbitrations
Defend against white-collar matters
Conduct government and internal investigations
Manage criminal and regulatory proceedings
Mitigate and manage business risk
Collaborate across multiple practice groups

What we're looking for

4+ years of post-qualification experience

Australian legal qualifications

Strong background in commercial litigation

Experience advising financial institutions, banks, corporates, and insolvency practitioners

Comfortable working on cross-border matters

Demonstrated strong academic record and high-calibre legal skills

Proven matter management, analytical, and organisational capabilities

Exposure to contentious regulatory, class actions matters and investigations· nice to have

Developing industry reputation· nice to have

Enthusiasm for business development, client relationship management, and other commercially focused initiatives· nice to have

Strong commitment to ongoing professional development· nice to have

Passionate about coaching and mentoring junior team members· nice to have
