Employment Paralegal at Shoosmiths

The role

Shoosmiths is seeking an Employment Paralegal to join their respected Employment practice in Edinburgh. This role offers hands-on experience in complex litigation and advising employer clients.

What you'll do

Immerse yourself in the detail of claimants' employment histories
Attend witness meetings
Assist with the preparation of defence documentation
Analyse the wider litigation landscape
Observe strategic discussions shaping the defence of large-scale equal pay claims

What we're looking for

Prior experience working as a paralegal in an employment environment

Commercially minded and confident with experience liaising with and communicating with external clients on a regular basis

Excellent attention to detail taken with all correspondence and documentation

Flexible according to client needs, with the ability to adapt to change, new practices and remain calm under pressure

Able to integrate within a team as well as working on your own initiative

Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales

Hybrid working — three days per week in the office, at least two of which will be spent in Edinburgh, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining two days
