The role

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom seeks a mid-level Associate for its Palo Alto Intellectual Property Litigation practice. This role is for candidates with 3-4 years of experience in patent and/or general IP litigation, ideally with a technical background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics, and who are adept at handling complex technology disputes and novel legal questions.

What we're looking for

3-4 years of patent and/or general IP litigation experience

Technical background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics

Well-versed in complex technology disputes, particularly in emerging areas at the intersection of IP and artificial intelligence

Comfortable navigating novel legal questions where precedent is still developing

Strong communication skills

Collaborative approach

Ability to engage directly with sophisticated technology clients on high-stakes matters

High level of academic achievement

Active member of the California bar

Ability to work effectively as part of a team across offices and practice areas

Experience from a peer firm· nice to have
