The role

DWF is seeking a Senior Paralegal for its Technical Recoveries Team, managing a caseload of debt recovery matters from referral to conclusion. The role is available in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle on a hybrid basis.

What you'll do

  • Manage a caseload of debt recovery matters
  • Provide ad hoc advice and guidance to clients and colleagues on non-referred matters
  • Brief counsel for complex matters
  • Review matters at the point of referral, providing specific and proportionate scopes divisible into discrete tasks
  • Handle various legal matters including pre-action disputes, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, making court applications, and preparing for hearings/trials
  • Communicate scopes to clients and keep them informed of progress throughout
  • Interact with third parties, including litigants in person, legal representatives, and courts
  • Take care and conduct of legal matters, progressing them through to conclusion
  • Utilize the Liberate case management system effectively
  • Provide line management and limited supervisory responsibility for junior team members
  • Report regularly to the Specialist Manager on matters under your responsibility

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for correspondence via email, letters, telephone, and video conferences
