Paralegal - Construction

The role

Charles Russell Speechlys is seeking a Paralegal for its Construction, Engineering and Projects group in Guildford, United Kingdom. This role is suitable for a law graduate with experience or interest in Construction Law, focusing on transactional advice and dispute resolution for large-scale projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare replies to enquiries
• Review documents
• Prepare completion statements
• Assist with reports
• Administer data rooms and DocuSign
• Deal with payments
• Be a point of contact for clients/third parties
• Manage transactions for the team if required and keeping records up to date
• Provide transactional progress reports for key clients
• Support other teams and undertake research as required
• Assist with drafting construction contracts, including consultant appointments and collateral warranties
• Negotiate construction contracts with consultants and contractors
• Project manage large volumes of contracts and keeping track of the status of the documents at any one time, including keeping document trackers up to date
• Check the accuracy of engrossments of contracts such as appointments and collateral warranties and issuing documents for execution via DocuSign or hard copy engrossments
• Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles
