The role
Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is seeking a Senior Paralegal with a focus on Real Estate to join their practice group in New York. The role involves supporting real estate attorneys and managing a variety of transactional tasks, with an emphasis on title and survey review.
What you'll do
- Coordinate real estate finance (mortgage and mezzanine loan) closings
- Order UCC/litigation/judgment/bankruptcy searches
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements
- Assemble and distribute transaction documents
- Deliver closing documents to title companies for recording
- Assemble and distribute closing sets
- Handle custodial deliveries and attention to client post-closing protocols
- Meet the minimum requirement of 1,650 annual billable hours
- Work on other duties as assigned
What we're looking for
At least six years of relevant professional experience
Experience performing diligence directly
Proven track record of title and survey work
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with or without direct supervision
Ability to coordinate multiple projects
Ability to prioritize, be flexible, and perform well under pressure with strong time-management skills
Demonstrates sound judgment and strong adherence and sensitivity to confidential matters
Ability to work well with and gain the confidence of professionals and attorneys at all levels
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word) and other computer skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience preferably from a large law firm or title company environment· nice to have
